Nylon Rollers made in the USA by Alliance
An agreement was finalized in October 2019 to make Alliance the exclusive North American representatives for Sirtres Sinvex sleeve technology. These large heavy wall nylon roll sleeves can exceed 22ft in length and 2 ft in diameter. Starting as shells, they are assembled with an interference fit and have to be heated before mounting on a precision ground steel roll base. To facilitate this Alliance installed a custom-built oven 4 ft x 4 ft x 25 ft long and a mechanism to slide the heated nylon sleeve onto the metal base. Once secured, the nylon is machined to a specific profile. Nylon shells are used in the calendering of nonwovens and other synthetic webs that require resilient backing rolls able to withstand elevated temperatures and pressures. In addition, polished nylon imparts a smooth finish to most substrates, unlike other resilient compounds.
